Threaded Daydream - 2026
I created a multi-media animation using scanned and printed frames to physically embroider a story onto the actress. I then used a physically altered digital camera to create the 'noisy' background for the subject. The process is called circuit-bending, and it rewires the camera to make real-time errors, allowing for the 'noisy/grainy' look for the background of the subject. I also digitally masked the subject in Davinci Resolve and edited the color grading.
The story for this piece is that the subject is dissociating from her environment around her. Which then leads to the imaginary "threaded daydream." Involving the embroidery needle and thread, which she then wakes up from.
